This article gives a demonstration of the working of CloakExpert Plugin in short. As you can see, there are 3 links and 1 banner image below(William Tay). These are encrypted by wrapping them inside masking tags of CloakExpert plugin.

  • Try hovering your mouse pointer on links and banner(William Tay) and check your browser's statusbar. What you see are proper links like www.amazon.com which hides long and ugly affiliate links.

  • Now right click and do "view source". You won't find your outgoing affiliate links there. They have been replaced with encrypted strings, by the CloakExpert Plugin.

  • Now click on one of the link or banner image. The banner link opens the William Tay's blog page in a new browser window. So, this ensures the visitor remains on your site while clicking your outgoing or affiliate links.

  • But still visitors won't be able to see the blog article URL unless they click on it.

  • Also note that you can place Google analytics tracking script code in the links. The plugin ensures that the script code remains intact.

  • Now with newer version 3.0, you can put multiple links inside cloaking tags. So, all links within the masking tags will be encrypted.
